Wow - I can use both hands again!

Naomi had her last canulas removed today (Monday), she now just has the nasal feeding tube, and oxygen at night. She is going to Plaster Theatre first thing on Tuesday morning to be cast for a new brace to wear until the next operation in 4-6 months. We are expecting this to be hard as she will have to lay on her front for the first time so they can cast her back. The hospital school tracked her down today and arrived with a special easel so she could paint. They also rigged up a laptop, as expected she found her way quickly to the HSM2 website! She was also able to look at the blog for the first time.

hi Dear Naomi, my name is Kim and I work with your daddy. He and Mummy sent me the link to your blog. I'm not so good on a computer and I had a bit of a problem (problem is definitely me as I know everyone else is managing to add to the blog). I have been so pleased to see such excellent progress since you had the operation. I tell everyone at work how you are such a very brave little girl and we have all been praying hard for you (and mummy daddy and Luke of course)!
I am sure you were delighted to get onto a Laptop so quickly and didn't miss HSM2 whilst you didn't have both hands. My daughter is 13 and she just loves that site, the film and books etc. She was very keen to know if you had a particular favourite person or if it was all the people at the high school. I'm glad to see every single day you are making wonderful progress, removing the mask during the day etc is a really big step and something I'd especially prayed for you to be able to do. I look forward to watching your progress every day
God Bless Naomi I hope you are not too busy and are managing to snatch a bit of sleep between HSM2 and painting :-))
Love from Kim

Hi to all of the Smiths,
It's great to see how Naomi is getting on. Tom found out lots about Naomi on sunday at Jungle Trek - he couldn't stop talking about how Naomi was having to go to the toilet!! - he was fascinated!
Well done Naomi on being so brave - your spine looks fantastic now!
Love to you all,
Ali, Nigel, Joshua & Tom

Hi peeps,We are thrilled to hear that you are shedding your tubes now. We love the picture of you painting Naomi - you are a proper Michaelangelo cos he painted the cistern(!!!???) in that Italian chapel a few years ago lying on his back. Maybe you will become as famous as him,on top of being a star already.
We will be praying for you as you have your brace cast procedure tomorrow. Love and hugs (gentle ones)Susan and David xx
